Calendar Girl...

So...our sweet Ruby Doobs is destined for stardom.  She is a social butterfly and hams it up for anyone that pays attention.  Her first "red carpet" event came last month...she is not even two yet.  Luckily, by association, we got to ride in the limo and walk the red carpet also.....

The Plachta Red Carpet invasion!

Because of her cuteness, Ruby made the 2013 Down Syndrome Association Calendar. Kinda like my blogging, the calendar is to promote awareness that our kiddos are more alike than different.  The Calendar Gala is an event to celebrate the beauty in all these peeps, and has such a warm, fun vibe. You just can't leave there without a big ol' Texas size smile on your face. I love  to be surrounded by individuals rockin' it, just like the Rubinator.  We were so excited because she had just started walking a month or so before...so actually walking the red carpet and debuting her new strut  was a possibility.  We had  strategically planned it all  out before exiting the limo...I was to put her down and then we were to move down the red carpet a bit, bend down and prompt her to walk into our open arms.  Sounds pretty simple..right?

 Everyone there was so excited and enthusiastically clapping and cheering her on..."paparazzi" snapping photos left and right...needless to say she got a little bit of stage fright.  Not to worry though...Super Daddy swooped in and saved the day!!

Well...she may not have walked it...but she sure works it...everyday!
